NCC: Strengthening UCC National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organisation comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth – ‘The Leaders of Tomorrow’ – into disciplined and patriotic citizens. Rifle Drill
Every academic year 20 mandatory parade sessions are conducted at the college under the guidance of the Associate NCC Officer and Instructors from the Battalion. The sessions include drill, arms drill, firing practice, obstacle training etc.
In addition to the requisite parade sessions, the cadets are also given opportunity to serve the community by conducting various activities like blood donation, awareness rallies, exhibitions, visit to old age homes and orphanages etc.
Camps
The other set of activities complementing the institutional training are a series of camps at unit, state and national level. Our cadets have been attending Annual Training Camps, National Integration Camps at locations across the country, Basic Leadership Camps, Army Attachment Camps, Personality Development Camps, National Trekking Camps, Special Adventure Camps, Special Cultural Camps, Thal Sainik Camp, Republic Day Camp etc.
It is the pride of the college that every year at least one of our cadets is a member of the Kerala & Lakshadweep Contingent at Republic Day Camp, New Delhi.
About 15 cadets of the college joined a group of 40 cadets and took up an Anti-Plastic Bag Campaign rally on 31 August, 2012 during the course of attending the Annual Training Camp held at Union Christian College, Aluva by 7 Kerala Girls Bn NCC, Thrissur. The rally was not only about holding placards with messages about ill-effects of plastic bags but also interacted with the local shopkeepers and public.
