NCC: Strengthening UCC

National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organisation comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth – ‘The Leaders of Tomorrow’ – into disciplined and patriotic citizens. It aims to develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular Outlook, spirit of Adventure, and ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country. It also provides a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in armed forces.

The NCC units in this college are the sub-units of the Army wing of NCC, enrolling 108 boys and girls as senior division/wing cadets. The activities of the NCC units include regular parade training, coaching classes for ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examinations, rifle drills and firing practice, trekking, annual training camps, national integration camps, seminars on topics of contemporary social and national relevance, celebration of important national days, community service including visits to orphanages and old age homes and blood donation camps.

Every year the cadets bring glory to the college by securing high pass percentage in the certificate examinations and by getting selection into the prestigious Republic Day Camp held at New Delhi. Also, our diligence in conducting the various activities suggested by the NCC headquarters has won us commendable recognition and appreciation from the authorities.
